Attached are the stationery lists for 2012. You will note on these lists that there is a charge for "Mathletics" and below is an explanation of what this is.
What is Mathletics?
Mathletics is an internet (computer) based maths learning programme that is individualised for each child. This means our children will be able to practice and develop maths skills on line both at school and at home. Early this year we trialled this programme in two classes and the children and teachers loved it.
Is there a cost?
Yes. The programme is huge and is constantly being developed and revised, however, this does mean there is a cost. You will notice on the stationery lists we have added $10 per child to cover part of the cost - the school will pay a similar amount.
Can children use the programme at home?
As long as you have internet access the answer is yes. Children actually choose to "do maths" via Mathletics in their own time at home. If you don't have internet access children will definitely be using the programme in class and they can use the library computers at lunch times to access the programme. In mid February your child will bring home their unique access and log in code.
Many thanks
